This variety originated in the Tuscany region of central Italy. The winemaking style for this wine is a combination of traditional and modern. Traditional open ferment which is hand plunged yet the wine matures in new oak barrels. This allows the wine to be lifted and fruity yet have savoury and spicy notes. Delicate plum and cherry aromas dominate the palate with a robust and firm tannin backbone.
Serve this wine with roast meats, lamb or veal. This wine will develop more character if aged for 5-8 years in the bottle.
